Hearing Impairment
Hearing impairment is a decrease in the ability to detect or understand sounds, whether full or partial and can be caused by a number of biological and environmental factors. Sound waves vary in amplitude and in frequency.  Amplitude is the sound waves highest point of oscillation.
Two-thirds of people who suffer from hearing loss are still working and haven't reached retirement age. If you're one of them, trying to hide or ignore the problem could cost you, a new study has found. Untreated hearing loss, depending on how severe, cut household income by an average of nearly $23,000 per year.
Frequency is the speed of sound divided by the wavelength of the sound wave, referred to as the pitch. Thus losing the ability to detect some frequencies, or very soft sounds, that an organism naturally detects, creates some form of hearing impairment.

Tinnitus (Latin word for "ringing") is the perception of sound in the human ear but absence of corresponding external sound(s). Tinnitus can occur in one or both ears or in the head. It's usually described as a ringing noise, but in for some patients it's a high pitched whining, buzzing, hissing, humming,  or whistling sound,

or as ticking, clicking, roaring, "crickets" or "locusts", tunes, songs, or beeping.[3] It has also been described as a "whooshing" sound, as of wind or aves. Tinnitus isn't itself a disease but a symptom resulting from a range of underlying causes, i.e. ear infections, foreign objects or wax in the ear, & injury from loud noises. Tinnitus is also a side-effect of some oral medications, such as aspirin, and may also result from a low level of serotonin.
